Harmony Development Company proudly announces an agreement with David Weekley Homes to build new certified green homes in the town of Harmony.

“We are excited about this arrangement with the nation’s largest privately-held builder,” said Shad Tome, President of Harmony Development Company. “David Weekley Homes is leading the way in constructing homes that help lessen the impact on the environment while saving the homebuyer money in the process. It’s a great match for Harmony.”

All of these homes will be certified green by the Florida Green Building Coalition and will include the following features:

  • Energy Star® Certified Homes, Appliances, and Lighting – Saves up to 30% in utility costs.
  • 14 SEER HVAC Systems avoid unnecessary cooling of attics by reducing ductwork leakage from 20% to less than 3%.
  • Jump ducts in additional bedrooms help balance air flow, even out temperatures, and help the air conditioning system operate more efficiently throughout the home
  • Low “VOC” (Volatile Organic Compound) paints used throughout house
  • Water StarSM compliant landscaping includes drought tolerant plants and turf
  • Recycled/Engineered wood products used for all supporting columns and beams
  • White framed Low “E” vinyl double paned insulated windows reject more of the Florida sun during the hottest summer months.
  • Poly-sealant at base plates, doors and windows to help prevent air infiltration
  • Low flow showerheads and lavatory faucets

The David Weekley homes will range from the 170’s to the mid $200’s. The model home is now open for tours Sunday & Wednesday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m..
